Marinara Sauce


Ingredients:

  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 C onions, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 5 - 6 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and chopped
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbs parsley
  • black pepper to taste
  • pinch sugar
  • ¼ tsp basil

Heat olive oil over medium-high heat and add the onions. Saute until slightly brown and add the oregano and garlic. Sautee briefly. Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper, parsley, sugar, and basil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.

This is a basic sauce for a great many Italian dishes.
