Chili


Ingredients:

  • 1½-2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • 2 large (14.5 oz) diced seeded tomatoes
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • dash oregano
  • dash basil
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Brown the beef in a large heavy pot, add the chopped onions and garlic and cook until transparent. Add all the other ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 hours, adding water as necessary. I usually end up adding about 2 cups of water in all.
